Development & Communications Assistant (full-time, 40 hours)

Summary

The Development and Communications Assistant is responsible for supporting HEAL’s development and communications operations. This includes assisting with fundraising operations including, database management, supporting the development and deployment of donor communications, organizing and executing events, supporting HEAL’s social media presence, regularly updating and maintaining its website, developing and designing promotional materials, managing customer relations for our growing consultancy services, and supporting other fundraising and communications operations.

This position will be based in HEAL’s Bangor office, with the potential of being a hybrid remote position. The Assistant reports to the Director of Development. The right candidate must have a keen aesthetic sense, strong writing, editing and verbal communication skills, have great computer skills, and be highly organized with a strong attention to detail. Demonstrated experience with project management, writing/editing copy, and/or database management is ideal. Familiarity with Maine, and a passion for development and communications and desire to grow in this field is preferred. Specific Duties & Responsibilities

 

Development Operations:

  • Manages and maintains HEAL’s Contact Relationship Management (CRM) database.

  • Supports the development of and coordinates and implements donor communication plans.

  • Supports the planning of an coordinates and executes fundraising and other events.

  • Supports the planning and development of, and coordinates and implements, other fundraising operations.

 

Communications Operations:

  • Supports the management and growth of HEAL’s social media feed.

  • Manages, maintains, and regularly updates HEAL’s website.

  • Prepares press releases and other press materials as necessary.

  • Supports the development of and coordinates and implements broader communications and marketing plans.

  • Develops and designs general and program-specific marketing, communications, and promotional materials.

 

Customer Relations and Sales Support:

 

  • Supports the development and management of customer relations for HEAL’s growing consultancy services.

  • Supports the development and implementation of a sales strategy.

 

General:

  • Actively participates in all relevant teams and staff functions.

  • Maintains relevant financial records.

  • Obtains/maintains necessary certification(s) and professional development needed to perform all job functions.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development.

 

Benefits and Salary

 

Salary Band: $36,000 - $38,000

Fringe Benefits:

  • 20 days sick/vacation time
