LGBTQ+ CULTURAL COMPETENCY

Time: 2 hours

Description: This can be geared toward either medical or social service providers. This training covers LGBTQ+ health disparities, with breakouts for each sub-population, and explains the reasons behind them. This training also provides an understanding of terminology within the community and family structures.

Your practice or business will also receive a customized assessment of whether your practice/work environment is affirming for LGBTQ+ patients or clients.

TRANS CULTURAL COMPETENCY

Time: 2 hours

Description: This interactive training is intended for all staff in a medical practice, including clinical and clerical staff. The training provides context for health disparities the trans community faces and the reasons behind them, with educational breakout for HIV as one example of a health disparity.

We will also spend time explaining the diversity of identities and culturally competent language providers can use to maintain a respectful and professional relationship. Participants will work to develop a plan to ensure the entire practice is a safe and affirming space for transgender patients, from the first phone call, through an office visit.

CULTURAL COMPETENCY IN WORKING WITH PEOPLE WHO INJECT DRUGS

Time: 2 hours

Description: Too often, people who are struggling with addiction face stigma from health care providers. This can cause this population to avoid the medical system, even when urgent medical issues arise. This training focuses on ways to ensure you can build a compassionate and productive relationship with people who inject drugs.

LET'S TALK ABOUT IT: INCLUSIVE SEXUAL HEALTH AND CONSENT FOR YOUTH, BY YOUTH

Time: 2 hours

We will facilitate an anonymous Q&A session to answer any questions.
